Hardback, 8vo. 8.5 x 6 inches. Maroon cloth binding, gilt lettering to spine with gilt bands to ends. Gilt paneled boards with beveled edges. Dark green endpapers. In very good condition. Fading to spine, some rubbing to extremities, some minor handling marks, white soiled patch to bottom front corner. Endpaper cracked between hinges. Binders label “Burn & Co.” to rear. Inscription by Queen Victoria to halftitle page; “To Sir .... Phelps? from Victoria. Sept. 5. 1874.” Mild/moderate foxing spots to endpapers and title page, some foxing to inside pages but overall very clean and tight. Most pages still remain uncut. Else a very clean and tight copy. 450pp. Important association copy. Princess Feodora (1807-1872) was Queen Victoria’s older maternal half-sister, living together at Kensington Palace.
